An Chailleach sa Tornoig
(The Old Hag at the Kiln)
Dinny Delaney

An Chailleach sa Tornoig is a traditional Irish jig.  A version of this tune was played by Dinny Delaney (1836-1919), a blind piper from Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. Philippe Varlet states that Delaney competed in the Dublin Feis at the turn of the century and recorded this tune on a cylinder in 1899.

Established in 1896, the Feis Ceoil Association promotes excellence in the learning and performance of music across all ages, levels and disciplines. An festival is held before Easter each year in Dublin which comprises almost 200 competitions, attracting over 3,000 participants from all over the island of Ireland.  Non-competitive events and concerts are held throughout the  the year.
